500 meters of grassy singletrack. Need to go around fence that can be bypassed on this marker. The alternative would be to stay on the beach all the way from Costa Dourada, but there are two rocky promontories that might be impassable outside of low tide.
Alcobaça informal boat crossing
Ask around the riverfront if a boat can bring you to the old dirt road on the other side of the river ("a antiga estrada de terra do outro lado do rio"). Expect to pay R$30. There are lots of boats, but it might take a while to find one that's available. If riding from south to north or looking for a simpler option, take the paved road and bridge west of town.

For a free alternative, bike on coastal dirt roads and beaches to Corumbau and then Cumuruxatiba.
